It's getting hot in here...so let's go to the coast!

And that is exactly what we did this past weekend. Natasha's friends have a beach house in Pacific City

A lovely place on the Nestucca River and a block away from the beach. It makes me wonder about the long-term sense and stability of building in that particular area. But I suppose if rivers can be diverted, it should be even easier to keep one in place with proper management. Even if I am being naive, the natural beauty of that place is enough to throw some caution to the wind and build a community. I hope it stays for a long time.

Unfortunately I had to head back in to town to work my weekend gig at Patagonia. The good news was that I brought back a nice fleece and sweater when I returned to the beach that evening. We didn't pack any when we left and in doing so, underestimated the ability of the great Pacific Ocean to remain cool throughout the summer.
