Opening night at Chautauqua. The Nevil Brothers are tooting some funky-smooth jazz grooves from the Ampitheater. Sticky kids with icecream dodge the elderly pedestrians. The temperature is perfect and the sun refuses to set quickly.
I am sitting on the veranda of the CLSC checking email and watching people.
Unfortunately I saw a very elderly gentleman in a scooter pass out under the watchfull eyes of six on-duty parametics who were alerted to his lucid state in the back of the Amp. What appeared to be his daughter was with him being consoled by an usher as the medics performed CPR. Hope he is alright either way: still living comfortably after giving his family a scare, or seeing old pals in the great beyond. I guess this is kind of a season-ender.
